Abbottstown, PA — May 30, 2020

Chad Trout led every lap of the 30-lap feature for his third career 410 sprint car victory at Lincoln Speedway. With 46 410 sprint cars on hand, Trout qualified for the main event through his heat and selected the pole in the redraw. Brandon Rahmer, the current point leader at the track, lined up second for the main event.

Trout drove to the bottom of turns 1 and 2 when the green flag waved with Rahmer in hot pursuit.

Gerard McIntyre, who lined up third for feature, challenged Rahmer for second early in the race. As McIntyre was working on Rahmer, Chase Dietz took the high line through turns 1 and 2 and got by McIntyre for third but the caution came out before the pass was official. The caution was for last week’s winner, Brian Montieth, who came to a stop on the backstretch after spinning coming out of turn 2.

Trout paced the field ahead of Rahmer, McIntyre, Dietz and Tyler Walton for the single file restart.

McIntyre got a nose under Rahmer going into turn 1 but Rahmer held onto the second spot. Dietz was all over McIntyre for third and took the spot on lap 4. McIntyre stayed close and took the third spot back on the next lap.

Freddie Rahmer was trying to join his brother Brandon in the top 5 as he battled with Dietz and Walton. Rahmer was in the top 5 on lap 5 and made it to fourth on lap 6, right before the second caution of the race on lap 7. The yellow flag came out for Justin Whittall who was facing the wrong direction in turns 3 and 4.

While under caution Ryan Smith exited the track and nosed into his pit, ending his night.

The top five for the restart were Trout, Brandon Rahmer, McIntyre, Freddie Rahmer and Dietz.

McIntyre tried the high line going into turns 1 and 2 to get by Brandon for second. Freddie joined making it a three-way battle for the spot and then another caution came out for Justin Whittall who once again was spun around in turns 3 and 4.

McIntyre tried the high side again on the restart, but this time Brandon was able to pull away and create some distance between himself and the battle for third between Gerard and Freddie.

Once McIntyre broke free from Freddie he closed in on Brandon for second. Brandon held off McIntyre’s charge running the bottom with Gerard sticking to the high side of the track.

The yellow flag flew again on lap 14 as Adam Wilt slowed to a stop on the back stretch.

The field lined up nose to tail with Trout, Brandon, McIntyre, Freddie and Tim Wagaman leading the way.

Freddie was trying everything he could to get by McIntyre, but Gerard held onto the third position. Rahmer tried a slide job in turn 4 on lap 19 but it didn’t stick.

The first red flag of the race came on lap 20 as Robbie Kendall and Brian Montieth got together coming out of turn 4 with Montieth landing on his side.

McIntyre and Brandon made contact in turn 2 on the restart with Rahmer flipping and bringing out the red flag yet again. McIntyre headed to the pits after determining the car had too much damage to continue.

Track officials opened the red to allow teams to refuel due to the number of laps run under caution.

For the second week in a row, both the second and third place cars were taken out of the feature at the same time. The new running order for the top 5 was Trout, Freddie Wagaman, Dietz and Tim Glatfelter.

Once the field restarted Lucas Wolfe was one of the few cars running the high line around the track and it was working for him as he passed three cars in three laps to get to seventh from his sixteenth starting spot.

Trout had a lead of 2.109 seconds with 5 laps to go as he approached the tail end of the field.

Trout held onto this lead and beat Freddie to the checkered flag by 1.052 seconds. Wagaman crossed the line third and Dietz held on for a fourth place finish. Glatfelter completed the top 5.

Heat winners for the 410 sprints were Chase Dietz, Gerard McIntyre, Chad Trout and Tim Glatfelter. Tyler Walton set overall quick time with a lap of 15.395 seconds.
